Hey little Jelly Bean,

As you know Megan arrived on Thursday evening and spent time with your Dad while I was out with the girls.  So, on Friday morning I took myself off the a monthly networking meeting called Damsels in Success.

I then attended a yoga class in Coventry only because Belinda (who teaches the classes in Leamington Spa) doesn’t offer them over the summer holidays which is now and also I thought it was a little early for everyone to know about our pregnancy.  Anyway as luck would have it Belinda walked into the class as I was sitting with my legs folded on my yoga matt ready for the class to begin.  Belinda was doing an assessment for the yoga teacher in Coventry – what are the chances??  Belinda looked at me and asked “what are you doing here?”  “well” – I said, “I am attending a pregnancy yoga class as we are 15 weeks pregnant!”.  Belinda was delighted, as most people have been when we have told them.

So, our little secrets is really getting out there now – feels so strange!

On Saturday your Dad, Sister and I took the train to London, our first stop was Madame Tussauds – what a great experience!  You will by this time know about this wax museum which is filled with famous people from politicians to musicians.   Megan had her picture with a few wax models – they look so real it’s a little scary.

I opted out of the dungeon experience due to me being pregnant with you.  I just didn’t feel right putting you through that horrific experience when you are only the size of an orange (I think).  Megan screamed the whole way through but loved it.

We had a burger at Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Baker Street, the home of Sherlock Holmes, who I am sure you will also know by the time you read this blog.

We saw street artists who were amazing, talented painters painting the walkways, punks, freaks and so much more, it was so stimulating!  The best part was that we spent the day together – just the four of us!

Warwick Castle was on Sunday – Megan has already mentioned taking you there when you are old enough.  We saw actors jousting, we walked passed the Knight School, we walked through the castle, witnessed an eagle demonstration and again your Dad and Megan did the scary Dungeon!

We had such a magic time that we decided that Megan needed to stay for an extra day – so on Monday, Megan and I spent the day together – we had the most delicious chocolate cake – mmmm yummy!  We walked and talked and it was so easy – your Sister is really wonderful – you are going to love her very much.

We took Megan to the station in Birmingham this afternoon after a very funny lunch at Selfridges Noodle Bar – we ate with chop-sticks, very amusing.

Oh yes, and today marked a big mile stone because we bought your first baby things when we walked into Mamas and Papas and couldn’t actually talk in normal tones – it was all cooing and ohhing and baby talk “oh, look at how cute!”  Megan mentioned that we had lost the ability to talk normally – we all laughed out loud.

We bought your duvet cover, cot bumper and a little organiser for your creams, cotton buds etc.  It is so cute and colourful – we all loved it.  It’s called Hodge Podge and it’s got bright orange (your Dad’s favourite colour) and green in it with little animals!

I was so happy that we had bought your first things for you along with Megan – it made it all very special.  We were all sad when Megan had to get on the train, we all had a little tear but it’s ok because we will see her very soon again – I promise!

Good night for now our little love bean – chat to you soon.

xx

Dear Jelly Bean,

It’s been a great weekend because it was this weekend that I met your Sister Megan. Megan is your Dad’s daughter who is 14 and lovely!  Megan lives in Scotland with her mother Angi and this was the first weekend Megan came to stay with us in Leamington Spa.

Megan arrived on Thursday evening and I decided to give your Dad and Megan a bit of time together alone – so I went out with the girls for dinner.  At the dinner I told the girls about you – it feels so weird telling people that we are expecting you and everyone has been so excited for us. It feels really good and far more real now.

We decided that your Dad would tell Megan so on the Friday evening after dinner he simply said “So Megan, we wanted to tell you that you are going to have a baby brother or sister!”  Megan’s jaw dropped and her eyes looked excited!  She didn’t say much – it may have been a bit of a shock but on the Saturday she said that she has been wanting a little brother or sister for ages!  So little Jelly Bean your Sister is also excited for you to arrive!!

We are all looking forward to meeting you soon.  Megan is going to do a video for you today with her message to you.

We love you Jelly Bean xx

Hi there “Jelly Bean”

This probably won’t be a long one as I am feeling particularly green around the gills today.  We are now in week 15 and I thought I would feel full of energy and that the nausea was going to be a thing of the past – Oh well, you are worth it!

This last week has been a week of telling our close friends that we are pregnant and it feels a strange for everyone to know – it was our (Colin, you and I) little secret for so long.  Time seems to be moving faster now too as we start to let others know we are going to have a baby!

We had a birthday lunch for Jane (our next door neighbour)  at her house last Sunday and when we arrived we quietly told her our news, Jane was delighted for us.  Anyway, as we sat down to lunch (around 8 of us) Jane announced that I have something to tell everyone and so it began…. our news is spreading.

We posted your little scan picture off to your Grandparents today – you look like a little blob of love, you were only 12 weeks when we had our first scan – you already had arms and legs and you looked like you were playing with your ambilical cord.  You moved around so much, Colin actually asked if that was normal.

So, I am really excited about this week because Colin’s daughter, Megan is coming to stay for the weekend.  Megan is your half sister and she lived in Scotland – she is 14 years old now and doesn’t know yet that we are expecting a little baby.  I really want Megan to feel part of our little family and I hope we have a lovely weekend together.   I want to give Colin and Megan some time alone together so I am out with the girls on Thursday evening.  That should be fun as only Minnie knows about you.  The other girls are going to be so excited!

So Jelly Bean – I will let you know how all of that goes and I would really like to get Megan to do a little video for you.  We are all off to London on Saturday for the day so I am going to take the webcam along with us to show you London.

We love you so much and look forward to the next phase of this lovely pregnancy.

Big love to you Jelly Bean xx
